Lagavulin Distillery Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Established on Islay's south coast, nestled between Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin initiated legal distilling in 1816 under the stewardship of a local farmer, John Johnston. Lagavulin has earned renown for its intricate blend of seashore and moor, infused with notes of pipe smoke, Lapsang Souchong, bog myrtle, and rich dark fruits. The aging process primarily involves refill casks, although a novel approach has introduced ex-Sherry casks as part of a controlled program for small batch releases. Additionally, a limited quantity of a higher-strength 12-year-old variant is annually released for enthusiasts of robust peat flavors. Since 1997, Lagavulin Distillery has been under the ownership of Diageo.

Nose: Lemon Vanilla Cake, some dry smoked wood, grilled pineapple, a hint of mint and smoked meat. Palate: Custard, grilled pineapple, heather honey, salt water, caramel, saffron, juicy lemon cake, white pepper, white chocolate, fine oak spice.
Finish: Medium length and very pleasing finish with caramel, brine, fine smoke, pineapple, vanilla and a pinch of ash.

This double-matured Lagavulin has had a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks. A whisky that never disappoints.
Nose: Pronounced peat smoke intertwines with dark fruits, honey, wax, and ash, accompanied by a subtle sour note, albeit somewhat flat. Taste: Abundant smoke and ash dominate the palate, complemented by mineral notes and a delicate fruit sweetness. Finish: A lingering finish characterized by an enduring smokiness.
